Skating Elephants?

How to really confuse a child......

2 weeks ago, we went to the circus..... fun times were had by all.
Every day for the last 2 weeks,
as we drive past the arena on the way to and from work
T screams "look mom, circus".
Last night, T went to the NCAA Men's Hockey regional finals at the same arena
with his cousin Luke and uncle Peter.

This morning he told me...
Mom! the circus floor has ice now!

Hmmmm....
I wonder if the skating elephants in his head are playing hockey?!

Hockey on Skates!

Hockey is played in our house all the time.  He plays in socks, he has a net
and multiple sticks.... but oh the excitement to play 'real hockey' on the ice.
I am so impressed with his improvement over the last 6 weeks....
HOWEVER
I will not miss walking into the rink and putting on a coat...
Bring it on spring.... we are ready to trade in the skates for soccer cleats!

Watch carefully....I love his perseverance.

Latest Happenings...

Latest happenings around here.....
A warm week followed by cold week-
I am done with the polar vortex-

We have checked potty training off the to do list
It was less painful than I anticipated, it pays to wait!

The hockey obsession is a beast of its own,
the Winter Olympics was a great source of daily games-
Fun fact: for the last 2 weeks a
the 'game of the day' replayed every afternoon-

Today, T told me he changed his name...
What is his new name you ask?
Zamboni ....huh?
Yes, Zamboni Hockey Stick to be exact.

We survived the sugar rush holiday on February 14th

We have had many a indoor play date:
getting creative!

and finally...
Skating Progress!

Looking forward to all things S P R I N G !

For the love of.....Hockey!

This boy LOVES hockey.
We have embraced winter sporting activities,
Sledding, skating, and attempts to snowboard by standing in the sled...
He sleeps with 4 hockey sticks, 2 pucks, & a baseball glove
He whacks pucks (any small toy or object) all over the house
and if he spies hockey on the TV... he stops to watch and imitate the players.

We often go to cheer on cousin Luke in his hockey games
BIG EXCITEMENT...
he wears the jersey of his fav player....cousin Luke

As a birthday gift his uncle and family gave him skating lessons.
I laced up T's hockey skates, he was so excited, but he couldn't stand up,
let alone walk.... my unspoken thought was what in the heck am I doing to this kid.....
Then the cousins and uncle Peter took over

Much to my surprise, after an hour of 'skating'
which included a large portion of time being pushed around
on a sled (those cousins are clever) T exited the ice....
I offered him my hands and he emphatically told me.... I got it!
and he surely did.... I love my fearless and coordinated child.

The best line of the day
"I fall mama, then I get back up."
You keep doing that Sweet T, forever and ever.

Polar Vortex

This weather is killing me.
Bike riding on the carpet... slow going
& we are losing hockey pucks under the stove.

Thank goodness for amazing friends who came inside to play.

We love you Nancy and Frank!
