Running Man

Theo ran the kids run at the Hyde Park Blast last weekend.
This boy loves to run...
lucky for us, his cousin Gigi and her friend strategically lined up right in front and ran behind him.  Technically, he tied for first in his age group however, my niece informed me
"Theo really was the winner because the other kid,
well, her mom was practically dragging her and that is the ONLY reason he tied, sheesh!"
We are not competitive at all.

Post race we celebrated with friends, cousins, and balloon hats.
I had a random conversation with a man who was excited to watch the elite
Kenyan runners who were competing later in the evening.

I suppose it would be exciting but I know there were at least
four little Ethiopians dynamos who ran in the morning.

Rounding third and heading for home.....

I am almost finished with the school year and looking forward to a summer of leisure and travel with my favorite little man.  Spring has been busy....

Sleeping patterns are improving.

Soccer season is wrapping up.

Hockey is still T's passion...
Still loves running, thanks Coach Frank

Spending lots of time with the cousins

Easter with the grandparents

And friday night play dates with our best buddies
who share a common heritage and cool single mamas

Adventures.....

We don't remember days,
we remember moments.

My house needs painting.
My dryer is slowly failing.
I have many 1/2 completed projects in the basement.
My to do list is long....
And yet when given a chance, we take off

to visit friends, or the beach, or any interesting adventure.
Sometimes I wonder if we should stay put, fix the house, buy a dryer.
Instead, I always seem to choose the adventure.

Spring Break in Baltimore
excluding the sick visit to the ER, it was a lovely time.

Skating Elephants?

How to really confuse a child......

2 weeks ago, we went to the circus..... fun times were had by all.
Every day for the last 2 weeks,
as we drive past the arena on the way to and from work
T screams "look mom, circus".
Last night, T went to the NCAA Men's Hockey regional finals at the same arena
with his cousin Luke and uncle Peter.

This morning he told me...
Mom! the circus floor has ice now!

Hmmmm....
I wonder if the skating elephants in his head are playing hockey?!
